Interactive Artwork of the Day: Sick and tired of staring at Van Gogh’s Starry Night and being unable to manipulate it with your fingers? Enter: Greek digital artist Petros Vrellis and his interactive Starry Night animation.

Using openFrameworks, Vrellis transformed Van Gogh’s masterpiece into an interactive painting capable of rearranging itself through touch-sensitive gestures. Additionally, background music responds to changes in the animation’s flow.

Today was such a wonderful day. The weather was beautiful. My students were angelic (even during a fire drill). What more could I ask for? I totally needed a day like today to remind me that my life is fine. True, I think my quarter-life crisis is coming early (4 months early to be exact), but I have faith that I can make it.

I have to channel positivity and reject the negative. I have to pray and release.

Recently, I’ve been listening to Eric Clapton’s “Change the World”. It moves me to tears every single time (usually John Mayer does that). It’s just such a heartfelt and passionate song. I love songs that I can just close my eyes and listen to/sing with while the world melts away. It’s the best stress reliever I’ve found!

I’ve been attending Southeast Christian Church since I’ve moved. Yeah, yeah, “6 Flags over Jesus”. Haha. Very funny. What I love so much about it is that it’s always fresh, always powerful, always moving. I love the music, sermons, and overall atmosphere. The week of April 25, the sermon was about “Joy When There’s No Reason”. I was absolutely beautiful and totally meant for me. Sometimes, I find myself faking joy because I feel like there is nothing to be joyful about. This sermon, changed my mind. There is ALWAYS something to be joyful about. Have a job in this economy? Be joyful. Have a loving family? Be joyful. Did you wake up this morning? Be joyful. The most poignant thing in the whole sermon was about how just when you think you can’t find the joy, you have nothing left, ask God for his joy. He’ll share it with you. (So right!) It was perfectly timed for my life and has given me a new attitude. I’m learning that I should live my life according to Phil 4:4-9. Such a beautiful and powerful truth from Paul. In addition, to keeping physically healthy, these words give me strength and encouragement keep spiritually and mentally healthy. No toxins allowed!

Wow! Just off Battle Studies and Mayer is already making more beautiful music. Does this guy quit? I’m loving the feel of this song. It totally makes me want to close my eyes and sing out loud (as does most of Mr. Mayer’s music). If it’s this good now, I can only imagine what it will be like with words. I’m already stoked for the next album. If it’s anything like this, it’s sure to be stellar.

Hopefully, this one shows up on the Summer Tour! See you in Noblesville, IN and Cincinnati, OH Mr. Mayer!
